(16) Georgia Tech Take Down (9) Georgia, 30-24 in Overtime

Thinkstock(ATHENS, Ga.) — In what might be the program’s best win of the year, 16th ranked Georgia Tech defeated 9th ranked Georiga 30-24 in overtime.
This was the Yellow Jackets’ first win over Georgia since 2008 and only the second in the last 14 seasons.
“I have a lot of respect for Georgia’s program,” said Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson. “That makes it even that much more impressive for us to be able to come in here and get a win.”
While Yellow Jackets’ quarterback Justin Thomas had a tough game, completing just 6 of 16 passes for 64 yards and one touchdown, the running game powered Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Running back Zach Laskey carried the ball 26 times for 140 yards while scoring three touchdowns while teammate Synjyn Days ran for 94 yards on just 16 carries.
“We kind of felt like we had them where we wanted,” Laskey said. “So this year it was special, especially for the seniors.”
With the win, Georgia Tech improved to 10-2 while Georgia now sits at 9-3.
