The win was important not only to the Horned Frogs playoff aspirations, but also to their hopes of a Big 12 Championship.

TCU (8-1) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to Boykin’s two yard touchdown run and 10 yard scoring pass to David Porter. The Wildcats (7-2) did not get on the board until the final minute of the first quarter when quarterback Jake Waters connected with Tyler Lockett on a 70-yard scoring strike.

The Horned Frogs added a field goal in the second quarter, taking a 10-point lead into halftime. Out of the break, Boykin added to his impressive day with a 19-yard touchdown scamper, flipping over a defender at the goal line. Boykin tallied a career high 123 rushing yards and three touchdowns, scoring again on a 23-yard run in the fourth quarter that made it 41-14, while also adding 219 yards through the air.

Waters threw for 291 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Kansas State, but was also picked off as the Wildcats mustered just 34 rushing yards. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for Kansas State and created a three-way tie atop the Big 12. Both Kansas State, TCU and 12th-ranked Baylor are all 5-1 in conference with three games to play.
