Heyward is coming off a season in which he hit .271 with 11 homers, 58 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases.

Heyward, 27, is due $7.8 million next season and then will be a free agent at the end of the year.

Newly hired Braves general manager John Hart is looking to bolster up on young pitching, just like the Braves did with Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Greg Maddux in the early ’90s.

The Cardinals were looking for outfield help after the tragic death of their outfielder Oscar Tavares last month.

Miller went 10-9 with a 3.74 ERA for the Cardinals this year and was one of the reasons St. Louis made it all the way to the NLCS.  He was 15-9 with a 3.06 ERA in his rookie year in 2013.
