Gordon was suspended by the league after testing positive for marijuana. It was his third offense. Gordon was set to be suspended for the entire season, but it was reduced to 10 games as part of the collective bargaining negotiations for the NFL’s drug policy.

The Browns are excited to have Gordon’s playmaking abilities back in the fold. Last season he caught 87 passes for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns  in fourteen games.

“We all know what Josh is capable of, but let’s not put all this pressure on him that he’s going to be the savior,” quarterback Brian Hoyer said. “We all have to be more consistent. Let’s not put that on one guy.”

He will be a welcome addition to a Browns offense that has seen impact players like tight end Jordan Cameron out with a concussion and inconsistency at the running back position.

“You add an incredible playmaker to our offense,” wide receiver Andrew Hawkins said. “I don’t see any downsides to that.”

While under suspension, Gordon was limited to workouts at the Browns facility. He will now be allowed to practice with the team this week.
