“I am totally devastated. Nothing like this has ever happened to me,” Cher said in a statement. “I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I’m so proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started.”

The singer, 68, wrapped up the first leg of her “Dressed to Kill” tour in March, but before she embarked on a second leg, she contracted an infection that affected her kidney function, leading the postponement and rescheduling of the dates. Now, her doctors have advised her that she needs even more time to ensure a “complete and total recovery.”

Ticket holders can get refunds at the point of purchase.

The dates were to have run through January, and included two shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
