So far, Chrysler is the star performer with a 22 percent rise in October, the company’s eight month of double-digit growth for the year. Jeep has been the firm’s hottest brand recently.

“Chrysler Group is the industry’s fastest-growing automaker driven in part by sales of our all-new Jeep Cherokee and Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan, and by the strong consumer demand for our award-winning Ram trucks,” Chrysler sales chief Reid Bigland said.

Nissan’s U.S. sales rose 13.3 percent over the prior year, setting an October record. The company sold 103,117 units last month.

Meanwhile, Ford sales dropped 2 percent, though it sold 188,654 vehicles.
