Clemson Prepares for Wake Forest
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Clemson Tigers (6-2) will travel to Wake Forest (2-6) on Thursday in a quest for their sixth straight victory.
Clemson will rely on backup quarterback Cole Stoudt as freshman starter Deshaun Watson remains questionable with a broken finger.
“We keep finding ways,” Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said. “This is a battle-tested group. They’re tough-minded.”
Clemson’s defense continues to impress this season and is only giving up 18.3 points per game. Meanwhile, Wake Forest is averaging 14.8 points a game.
“We’ve got a lot of things to clean up. We’re early in this process and if we can establish effort as a starting point then we are headed in the right direction,” Wake Forest first-year coach Dave Clawson said.
Wake Forest is 0-4 in their ACC matchups this year.
