POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) – A southeastern Idaho man who entered an apartment and threatened two people with a machete has pleaded guilty to one count of second degree attempted murder.

KIFI-TV reports in a story on Tuesday that 54-year-old Twain Thomas of Pocatello also last week pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault.

Police say that Thomas on Feb. 22 entered an upstairs apartment in Pocatello and threatened two people with a machete.

Police say he then entered a downstairs apartment and threatened two other people, but one of the residents shot him in the upper torso.

Thomas is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 15.
