ESPN reports quarterback Nick Foles has suffered a broken collarbone and is out indefinitely.

Foles suffered the injury on Sunday during the team’s win over the Houston Texans when he was taken down by linebacker Whitney Mercilus.

Last season, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered the same injury and missed seven games.

Replacing Foles as the starting quarterback is former New York Jet Mark Sanchez, who in relief of Foles completed 15 of 22 passes for 202 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

“Since Day 1 here, you know what type of professional [Sanchez] is. …We were fortunate when Nick did go down, we were able to bring Mark in,” Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said. “I don’t think we missed a beat.”

Fortunately for the Eagles, they are 6-2 and are in first place in the NFC East.
