Gary Patterson Says Kansas State Will Be a ‘Tough Task’
Published at(FORTH WORTH, Texas) — The sixth-ranked Horned Frogs (7-1) will host seventh-ranked Kansas State (7-1) on Saturday in a Big 12 showdown.
TCU head coach Gary Patterson is preparing his team for a battle against the Cougars.
“They’re always good at special teams. Tyler Lockett is averaging almost 20 yards a return on punts. They’ve been getting up early, especially at home,” Patterson said. “We’ve been playing well at home, but they’ve been getting after people. They play well against the run. It’s definitely a tough task.”
Patterson has a lot of respect for K-State head coach Bill Snyder. He’s led the team to a 5-0 record in the Big 12.
“He’s won big ball games. He’s done just about everything. He’s one of those guys who thinks about it 24 hours a day,” Patterson said. “That’s what he loves to do.”
Synder knows his team will get all they can handle on Saturday. “They’re always going to be a good physical defensive football team,” he said. “They’re very sound with their special teams.”
