Hornets Guard Eric Gordon Out Indefinitely with Separated Shoulder
Published at(NEW YORK) — The injury bug has bitten New Orleans Pelicans guard Eric Gordon once again after separating his shoulder during Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz.
Gordon got tangled up with Jazz guard Alec Burks in the second quarter of the game, causing him to fall to the ground and injuring his shoulder.
There is no set time table for Gordon’s return, but he isn’t expected back anytime soon.
The timing of the injury couldn’t be worse for Gordon and the Pelicans. After a tough start to the season, Gordon was starting to come around offensively. Last season, the 25-year-old Gordon played in 64 games, the most he’s played in one season since his rookie year during the 2008-2009 season when he played in 78 games. He’s averaged about 46 games played the past five seasons.
In 12 games this season, Gordon was averaging 9.5 points per game, but has averaged 17.2 points for his career.
