Barrett suffered an ankle injury during their 42-28 win over Michigan.

Barrett, who is a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate, had to leave the game after hurting his ankle early in the fourth quarter.

It has been announced that Barrett will in fact miss the rest of the season with a fractured ankle.

Barrett was thrust into the starting role at the start of the season after an injury to quarterback Braxton Miller knocked him out for the entire season.

As his replacement, Barrett flourished as he led the nation with 42 total touchdowns entering the game.

Taking his place will be backup Cardale Jones. He will make his first start of the season during the team’s biggest game of the season  in next Saturday’s Big Ten championship game.
