The Lions would defeat the Miami Dolphins 20-16 Sunday and push their winning streak to four games and their overall record to 7-2. The Lions have won their last three games by a combined six points.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson returned to the field after missing three straight games with an ankle injury.  He looked back to form as he racked up 113 yards on seven catches, including a 49-yard touchdown reception when he beat Dolphins corner Brent Grimes in single coverage.

The Lions had established an early 10-0 lead but the Dolphins dug in for a fight and flipped the scoreboard after blocking a Detroit field goal attempt in the third quarter. Dion Jordan returned the blocked kick to Detroit’s three-yard line. Ryan Tannehill would find Mike Wallace for a three-yard touchdown on the next play.  Miami would take a 13-10 lead.

The teams would trade field goals until Stafford mounted an 11-play, 74-yard drive that would give Detroit the leading score.

“I just love that feeling. It’s a good feeling for a quarterback to have the ball in his hands at the end of the game,” Stafford said. “By no means are we playing perfect, but we’re finding ways to win games.”
