IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – Nov. 5, 2014 – Celebrating your anniversary with Melaleuca is extremely rewarding. At least, that’s what 150 Melaleuca employees have to say now that their wallets are heavier. They received $1,677,734.26 million in longevity bonuses at Tuesday’s annual employee meeting for having passed landmark anniversaries with the company.

Melaleuca’s loyalty and longevity bonus is available to all full- and part-time employees, regardless of position or pay level, and is simply based on length of service. The company pays $5,000 for a five-year anniversary, $10,000 for 10 years, $15,000 for 15 years, $33,361.55 ($20,000 net) for 20 years, $25,000 for 25 years and $30,000 for 30 years.

Jolene Hill, a product development operations manager, and Dauphne Lords, Idaho Falls store manager, each received $25,000 checks from Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot at the event. Additionally, 14 employees walked away with $20,000 net checks, and 16 employees picked up $15,000 checks. Melaleuca also presented$10,000 checks to 72 employees and $5,000 checks to 46 employees.

“This check is a ‘thank you’ bonus for your hard work over the last five, 10, 15, 20, or 25 years,” Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot told recipients. “Our recognition meeting also allows every person in the company to honor these employees’ valuable contributions and years of service toward Melaleuca’s mission of enhancing lives.”

Prior to this meeting, VanderSloot encouraged those employees who were going to receive these bonuses to plan for retirement. “It’s our goal that all Melaleuca employees will retire as millionaires,”

VanderSloot said.

The company has created a program for a 30-year employee to have in excess of $1 million in the bank when they retire from Melaleuca. An employee would only need to invest the longevity bonuses, take advantage of the company’s 401(k) matching program and achieve a modest rate of return.

“I’ve always put money aside, even when I didn’t have much to put away,” Hill said. “In a couple of years, I hope to retire and these longevity bonuses will give me freedom to do so. It was hard to put that money in the bank, but now I’m so thankful to have saved for retirement.”

Melaleuca pays its employees many types of incentives based on performance and productivity. In addition to the company’s loyalty and long-term contribution bonus, Melaleuca offers many benefits that can be found on the Melaleuca jobs website.

“Melaleuca has been so good to me, and I can’t believe that 25 years have passed by,” Hill said. “I feel blessed to be a part of Melaleuca. If you work hard for this company, it really pays off.”
