NHL Postpones Buffalo Sabres Game
Published at(BUFFALO, N.Y.) — The NHL announced on Thursday that the Buffalo Sabres home game on Friday night has been postponed due to severe lake-effect snowstorms in the area. Buffalo was scheduled to host the New York Rangers and a make-up date has not been announced.
More than five feet of snow has fallen across parts of Western New York, and as many as three more is projected to fall by Friday night. This has left many residents in and around Buffalo incapable of leaving their homes — and has also accounted for multiple deaths.
Buffalo hosted San Jose on Tuesday night, one day after the first storm. An estimated crowd of just 6,200 was able to attend the 4-1 victory.
