Pacquiao dominated the fight, throwing 410 punches to Algieri’s 212. Pacquiao connected on 187 punches and scored six knockdowns.

Coming off such a dominating performance and now boasting a career record of (56-6-2, 38 KOs) some, such as ESPN’s boxing analyst Bernardo Osuna, wonder if he has been impressive enough to fight fellow welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“He needs to look impressive, because when he steps into the negotiating room for a potential fight against Floyd Mayweather in early 2015, he has got to have some leverage,” Osuna said.

The final scores from the judges were in favor of Pacquiao, 120-102, 119-103 and 119-103.
