With 1:42 remaining in regulation, Carr connected with James Jones on a 9-yard scoring play that put the Raiders ahead for good as they beat the Kansas City Chiefs 24-20.

It was the first win of the year for Oakland (1-10) who snapped a 16-game losing streak that dated back to last season. Led by a dominant run game, the Raiders racked up 179 yards on the ground while the defense held the Chiefs to just one touchdown on three redzone trips.

“That was really hard-fought, they are a great team obviously, they will probably go to the playoffs and do some great things,” Carr said. “I can’t wait to see my teammates’ smiles.”

The Raiders jumped out to a 14-0 lead on a pair of touchdown runs from Latavius Murray in the first half. Kansas City (7-4) eventually clawed back, tying the game at 17-17 in the four quarter when Alex Smith and Jamaal Charles connected for a 30-yard touchdown pass. The Chiefs then took the lead on a Cairo Santos field goal with nine minutes to play.

Over the next seven minutes, Carr orchestrated a 17-play, 80-yard drive that ended with the Raiders earning their first victory since Nov. 17, 2013, when they defeated Houston.

Meanwhile, Kansas City had their five-game win streak snapped and fell half a game behind Denver for first place in the AFC West.
