The 29-year-old was placed on the season-ending injured reserve Tuesday; he suffered the injury during the team’s win Sunday over the New York Giants.

Mebane has been dominant for a Seahawks team that ranks fourth in rushing yards allowed per game.

“There is nobody like Mebane,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said. “He’s a unique player. He’s had, I think, the best season he’s had since he’s we’ve been here to this point — most consistent, best factor — so that’s a big hit to take.”

Kevin Williams, Tony McDaniel, and Jordan Hill will take Mebane’s place on the line.

The Seahawks signed tight end RaShaun Allen from the Minnesota Vikings practice squad to take Mebane’s roster spot.
