Stocks Continue Their Climb

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Stocks continued their climb on Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 39.81 points to 17,613.74. The Nasdaq went up 19.09 points to 4,651.62, and the S&P 500 went up 6.34 points to 2,038.26.
Cable companies fell after President Obama said Internet providers shouldn’t be allowed to cut deals allowing online services like Netflix to pay to have their content moved faster.
Flight attendants at American Airlines have rejected a five-year contract by just 16 votes, complicating the merger of American and US Airways.
In preparation for what is hoped to be the strongest holiday shopping season since the recession ended, retailers went on a hiring spree last month, adding more workers than they ever have in October.
