Despite the Supreme Court decision, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Friday that “the ACA is working.”

The lawsuit, the Washington Post reports, challenges the IRS rule that authorizes tax credits and subsidies for health insurance purchased on federal exchanges. Earnest said Friday, however, that “these lawsuits won’t stand in the way of the Affordable Care Act and the millions of American who can now afford health insurance because of it.”

“We are confident that the financial help afforded millions of Americans was the intent of the law and it is working as Congress designed,” Earnest added.

He also called the lawsuit “just another partisan attempt to undermine the Affordable Care Act and strip millions of American families of tax credits that Congress intended for them to have.”
