Google(NEW YORK) — The revamped Google Maps doesn’t just look pretty — it’s also packed with newly integrated features to make life easier.
Users were treated to a sneak peek of the layered redesign on Wednesday, which Google said it expects to roll out to Android and iOS users in the coming days. The aesthetic overhaul includes bold colors and textures that offer a more intuitive experience.
Aside from the makeover, the app boasts three new or improved functionalities to make users’ lives even easier.
Explore New Places
An “explore” button at the bottom of a map allows adventurous users to find new places in the area to try.
Restaurant Reservations
There’s no need to open another app to make dinner reservations. Google Maps now boasts Open Table integration, making it that much easier to make plans for a special evening.
Uber Is in the Mix
For users in big cities, Google Maps has been a huge help in comparing cost and travel time between taxis, the subway and bus systems. Uber is now joining the mix, with the revamped Google Maps app providing details on how soon an Uber could pick you up and an estimate of how much it would cost.
