Come Fly with Me and My Pet
Published at | Updated at(CHICAGO) — We pretty much know how people feel about traveling with babies on planes, that is, if it’s not your kid, but pets seem to be a different story altogether.
Go Airport Express, a Chicago-based airport shuttle service, polled more than 400 customers regarding their attitudes about flying with cats, dogs and the like and just over half — 52 percent — say they’re okay with non-service animals traveling in cabins rather than getting relegated to cargo areas.
However, most pro-pet passengers aren’t completely oblivious to the concerns of other fliers.
Among that group, almost two-thirds also say that pets should be segregated in special sections of cabins in deference to passengers who might be allergic to cats or dogs.
Of course, all this might not be necessary, according to survey respondents, if the airline industry made accommodations in cargo far more pet-friendly.
