JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) – Faulty equipment is being blamed for a series of dramatic explosions that destroyed a propane business and fitness center in the northwest Wyoming resort town of Jackson last month.

Jackson fire investigators on Tuesday released their findings in the Nov. 20 fire and explosion at the AmeriGas facility on the southwest edge of Jackson.

Fire Marshal Kathy Clay determined that a leak occurred during the offloading of gas from a delivery truck as a result of faulty equipment or hose.

However, investigators weren’t able to determine what ignited the gas.

The resulting explosions and fire destroyed a semi-truck cab and several vehicles along with the AmeriGas business and nearby fitness center.
