Fill ‘Er Up…for Three Bucks?

SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1417782142081iStock/Thinkstock(NATCHITOCHES, La.) — American motorists are enjoying the lowest gas prices in several years, but the price at one Chevron gas station in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on Wednesday had cars backed up onto a local highway.

Thanks to a mistake in pricing, drivers paid 29 cents a gallon for supreme gas before the error was noticed by attendants.

One motorist said word of the low price spread like wildfire on social media.

One driver said she filled up her car for just three bucks.

Chevron attendant Briana Rachal tells the Shreveport Times the pumps went haywire, and there’s no other explanation for why the prices were so low.

The paper reports the gas station was not sure how many gallons were pumped before the error was noticed, and has not determined how much money the mistake cost the business.
