Kobe Bryant Passes Michael Jordan on All-Time Scoring List

Chris Graythen/Getty Images(MINNESOTA) — In his 1,269th career game, Kobe Bryant took over the No. 3 spot on the all-time scoring list on Sunday.

Bryant passed Michael Jordan with a pair of free throws in the second quarter of their game against the Timberwolves.

Bryant moved into third place on the all-time list and trails Karl Malone (36,928 points), and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387 points).

Following the free throws, the game was stopped so Bryant could exchange hugs and handshakes with his teammates and Minnesota’s side of the court.

Bryant entered the game with 32,284 points and needed eight to tie Jordan.
