NHL Fines NY Islanders F Anders Lee
Published at(NEW YORK) — The NHL fined New York Islanders forward Anders Lee, $2,286.29 on Tuesday for elbowing St. Louis Blues defenseman Carl Gunnarsson during the second period of Saturday night’s game.
The fine is the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
In 21 games this season, Lee has five goals and one assist for a total of six points. During his career, Lee has 15 goals and seven assists for 22 points in 45 regular season games.
In his first season with the Blues, Gunnarsson has four assists. He spent the previous five seasons suiting up for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The money from the fine will go into the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
