QB Geno Smith Thinks Jets Could Benefit from Coaching Change
Published at(NEW YORK) — Rex Ryan’s tenure as the head coach of the New York Jets could be in its final week, and quarterback Geno Smith doesn’t necessarily think that would be the worst thing for the franchise.
“To reset and re-adjust is a tough thing to do, but we’re professionals and we have to do it,” Smith said. “A change could be good for us all, so if it happens — when it happens — then we’ll see.”
In 13 games this season, Smith has thrown for 2,167 yards with 10 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Ryan made the AFC Championship game his first two seasons with the team, but the Jets have gone 25-38 since. At 3-12, the Jets will miss the postseason for the third-straight season.
