When she joined The View earlier this year, she said the biggest adjustment was not being a “nervous wreck.”

“I get a lot of help from Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell,” she told ABC News. “When they see me freaking out, they know now, they go, ‘You’re all right, you did good, don’t worry.’ I say, ‘Oh, but I shouldn’t have said that!'”

Perez, 50, said they just reassure her by adding, “Let it go, let it go.”

“Sometimes it gets really heavy on The View but for the most part I’m having fun,” she continued. “I get to sit next to Andy Cohen and crack jokes. I get to meet Lady freaking Gaga.”

As for things people don’t know about each co-host, the New Yorker said O’Donnell is the one who mingles and tells jokes with the crowd during commercial.

“Nicole Wallace is now my favorite nerd in the entire universe,” she said. “It’s not an act; she really doesn’t know these things.”

For example, Perez said when Cohen was on the show, he was talking about Tinder and Wallace had no clue what the dating app was.

“She’s so disconnected in that sense and it’s really enjoyable,” she said.

But most of all, Perez said, “people would be surprised how softhearted Whoopi is.”

“She’s a very kind and generous woman. I’m always getting gifts from her,” she said. “She gave me a Puerto Rican Barbie … she had on this really tacky dress and hoop earrings. I said, ‘What are they trying to say,’ and she goes, ‘I got it for that very response.’ She’s really a big mush.”
