School District Error Takes Money Out of Employees’ Bank Accounts
Published at | Updated at(PLYMOUTH, Mass.) — Some employees in a Massachusetts school district got a troubling surprise when they checked their bank accounts Friday.
When about 1,300 employees of Plymouth, Massachusetts, public schools checked their bank accounts, they found that instead of receiving their paychecks through direct deposit, the amount they were due had been withdrawn from their accounts.
Some banks won’t be able to fix the mistake until Monday. The superintendent says this was human error.
