State Department Spokesperson Says North Korea Should Admit to Role in Sony Hack, ‘Compensate’ Company
Published at(WASHINGTON) — North Korea should admit to their role in the Sony hack and pay damages to Sony, State Department spokesperson Marie Harf said Monday.
“The government of North Korea has a long history of denying responsibility for destructive and provocative actions,” Harf said. “If they want to help here, they can admit their culpability and compensate Sony for the damages that they caused.”
Harf did not specify how North Korea would go about doing that, as it is unclear whether Sony could accept money from North Korea legally given the relationship between North Korea and the U.S.
