GETTY 12214 Twitter? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1417554819681iStock Editorial/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — It’s now easier than ever to banish Twitter trolls.

The social network unveiled a mobile friendly suite of tools on Tuesday that allow users to flag abusive content and users in fewer steps than the previous process.

With more than 500 million tweets sent per day, Twitter said it expects the new tools will help streamline the process for flagging and removing offensive content and users.

Twitter currently has a one-click button that takes users to a page where they can fill out a report detailing alleged harassment. The updates will make the process easier by requiring less information.

On Twitter’s back end, the company said it has implemented a tool that will allow them to better review flagged tweets and accounts. The new reporting process is also expected to make it easier for people who aren’t victims but see abuse taking place and want to report it.

Twitter said the updates have already been rolled out to a small group of users and they’re expected to be released widely in the coming weeks.

Also included in the new suite of anti-harassment tools is a blocked accounts page, which allows users to see a list of all the users they have blocked.

“We’ll be adding more controls and features to this page in the coming months,” the Twitter announcement said. “Additionally, accounts that you’ve blocked won’t be able to view your profile.”
