Twitter Users Commemorate World AIDS Day

In honor of the annual observance, which first took place in 1988, Twitter users are posting images of red ribbons and using the hashtags #WorldAIDSDay, #WAD2014 and #PutARibbonOnIt.
According to WorldAidsDay.org, the day is “opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.”
According to the World Health Organization, 35 million people worldwide were living with HIV/AIDS in 2013.
