Indonesian investigators say the pilots can be heard talking shortly before the plane crashed with 162 people on board last Dec. 28.

Officials say that no explosions or gunfire are audible on the cockpit recordings.

However, investigators still haven’t figured out what caused Flight 8501 go down. There are theories that the aircraft might have gone into an aerodynamic stall while climbing at an abnormally fast rate to avoid bad weather.

The crash occurred about 40 minutes after the AirAsia jet left Indonesia en route to Singapore.

The search continues for the remains of the more that 100 victims who are still missing.
