Hathaway herself isn’t afraid to voice her opinion.

When asked by New York Times Magazine her advice for 2015 host Neil Patrick Harris, she said, “Do the opposite of what I did, and you’ll be fine.”

A follow-up question asked the 32-year-old actress: “What do you think went wrong?”

“I think it’s so obvious that it doesn’t even need to be identified. He’ll be great. He’s a natural host,” she answered.

If you recall, the Oscar-nominated Franco didn’t say or do much during his co-hosting stint with Hathaway, and the chemistry was lacking between the two.

Hathaway, who was promoting her new movie Song One to the magazine, also spoke about getting hooked on smoking back when she was filming Rachel Getting Married, which came out in 2008.

“I’ve quit. I got hooked for a few years. I had a four-year break, and then actually when I was producing Song One, I started smoking again. It’s easy to romanticize it when you haven’t done it in a while, but it’s actually pretty disgusting,” she added.
