Fox had spent the previous four seasons with the Denver Broncos where he went 46-18, including three-straight AFC West division titles.

Despite the success, Fox and the Broncos parted ways following the team’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the Divisional round of the playoffs.

Fox will replace the recently departed Marc Trestman, who was fired after a 13-19 record over two seasons on the job. The franchise has missed the playoffs for four-consecutive seasons.

The Bears do have a talented, yet under achieving teams despite their recent futility. They have wide receivers Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall along with running back Matt Forte. The teams defense has struggled in recent seasons, but Fox has a reputation for turning a team’s defense around.

In 13 years as a head coach with the Carolina Panthers and Broncos, Fox has gone 119-89 and took both teams to the Super Bowl.
