Ben Affleck to Receive Favorite Humanitarian Award at Wednesday’s People’s Choice Awards

ABC News(LOS ANGELES) — Ben Affleck will be presented with the third annual People’s Choice Award for Favorite Humanitarian during Wednesday’s live CBS telecast of the annual People’s Choice Awards.
“We are so pleased to honor Ben with the 2015 People’s Choice Humanitarian Award,” executive producer Mark Burnett said in a statement. “This award has become an important part of our show. It highlights a different side of a celebrity and helps bring awareness to a cause that our audience can support.”
Affleck is being honored for his work with the Eastern Congo Initiative. The group, which he founded in 2010, helps Congolese residents invest in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo to create sustainable economic communities.
Mom co-stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney are the co-hosts of this year’s People’s Choice Awards.
