Pocatello, Idaho — Civic and business leaders met Thursday in Pocatello in solidarity against the United Postal Service’s plans to close the mail processing plant center in the Gate City in April.

They are concerned that mail delivery may take several days longer if it has to go all the way to Salt Lake City to be processed. They believe that will hurt local businesses.

The USPS says, first class mail will still be delivered in the standard two days.
