Dallas Taylor first played with the short-lived 1960’s band Clear Light before turning to session work.  He played drums on Crosby, Still & Nash’s first two albums, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Deja Vu.  He also played for Stills’ group Manassas and their two studio albums, 1972’s Manassas and 1973’s Down the Road, as well as with Van Morrison and Paul Butterfield.

In the 1980s, Taylor changed careers, becoming a substance abuse and addiction counselor and interventionist based in Los Angeles.

Current session drummer Denny Seiwell, best-known by most for his work with Paul McCartney and Wings, writes on his Facebook page, “This morning at 2:38 am we lost another icon both of the drumming community and the sober community. Dallas Taylor helped countless people find their way out of the madness of alcohol and drugs and inspired many many drummers by his unique style. If you knew Dallas you were blessed. His battle is over and he left In a room full of people that loved him. Dallas touched many lives and will be missed very much. RIP Dallas.”
