In an interview with Digital Spy last month, Goodman remarked, “Dancing with the Stars — next year is their 10th year, it’s the 20th series of the show. So I think that’s a nice place to stop.”

During an appearance at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, California, Dancing with the Stars executive producer Rob Wade told ABC News Radio that “Len said he might take off in season 21. He’s definitely back for season 20.”

Wade said the 70-year-old Goodman has “a lot of travel requirements,” and he explained in the Digital Spy article that his mother has been ill and he wants to look after her. “I totally understand his position,” said Wade.

Wade continued, “I still think there’s a chance he’ll come back in some form for season 21, but if he doesn’t do season 22 I can definitely see him back at the table for the following season.”

Goodman has been a judge on Dancing with the Stars since the show debuted in 2004.  He is also a judge on the U.K. series Strictly Come Dancing.

Dancing with the Stars producers are hard at work right now putting together a cast for season 20. The cast announcement could come towards the end of February.

The new season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars begins on March 16.
