However, before the show’s premiere Monday night at 8 p.m., the reality TV star gave ABC News a few fun facts about himself. Here they are, in his own words:

1. “I love animals, and maybe my all-time favorite was my childhood dog, Dutch. He was part German shepherd, all mutt. I loved him so much I built a campground for the two of us and named it ‘Chris and Dutch’s Campground.’ RIP, Dutch. I miss you, buddy.”

2. “I lost my front tooth playing basketball with my friend Jake. We were at my grandfather’s place doing our best Michael Jordan impressions on a lowered rim when I got too crazy with the whole tongue-hanging-out thing. I caught my tooth on the net. I just remember hearing it ‘ting’ on the cement floor. My mom called the dentist, who told me to keep it in milk. Later that night he jammed it back in my mouth. Ouch. But man was that a sweet jam!”

3. “When I was a kid, my sisters used to make me play Barbie dolls with them. I named my first Barbie Shaulin. Why? Who knows? But I know it helped me get in touch with my feminine side!”

4. “I’d really love to get certified in scuba diving someday. Unfortunately, it’s not the easiest thing to do in northeast Iowa!”

5. “My favorite thing to eat near my house in Iowa is the taco pizza at Rod and Cal’s. Yes, taco pizza! You have to order it with extra sour cream and salsa. If they’re closed, it’s all about the Gunder burger at The Shanty. It’s enormous! And delicious!”
