Kobe Bryant Expected to Miss Rest of the Season

Chris Graythen/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Kobe Bryant’s season is over after he suffered a torn rotator cuff during Wednesday night’s loss to New Orleans, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reports.
Bryant met with doctors in Los Angeles on Friday and team doctor Steven Lombardo found a significant tear in Bryant’s right shoulder.
It’s a tough blow for Bryant and the Lakers, who have struggled to see him on the court over the last two seasons.
Bryant was sidelined due to a torn Achilles injury and a knee injury that allowed him to play six games last year.
Bryant will take the weekend to decide whether he’ll undergo surgery and has an appointment with team doctor Neal ElAttrache on Monday.
Bryant was voted to his 17th consecutive All-Star game after averaging 22.3 points in 35 games this year.
