The Panthers (8-8-1) dominated the Cardinals 27-16 Saturday, holding Arizona to 77 total yards of offense.

Jonathan Stewart took advantage of a Cardinals defense that has lost its edge over the past few weeks to the tune of 123 yards on 24 carries. He also scored a touchdown in the first quarter.

The Cardinals (11-6) limped into the playoffs after losing starting quarterback Carson Palmer and backup Drew Stanton to knee injuries. Ryan Lindley, who was forced into the starting role the past three weeks, committed two crucial interceptions.

The Cardinals defense could no longer carry the team as missed tackles proved to be Arizona’s undoing. The Panthers kept the Cardinals off balance with power runs and quick passes to the backs and receivers in the seam on the way to racking up 386 yards of total offense.

The Panthers will play at Seattle next weekend if Dallas beats Detroit on Sunday. Green Bay will host Carolina if the Lions win.
