Richardson suffered the knee injury in Saturday’s win against the Carolina Panthers.

A second round pick out of Colorado, Richardson provided a deep threat for the Seahawks passing attack. On the season, Richardson has 29 catches for 271 yards and one touchdown over 15 games. However, the promising young wide out had begun to find a role in recent weeks with the defending champs; 13 of his catches had come in the final three games.

After the Seahawks traded Percy Harvin to the New York Jets, Richardson had taken over kickoff return duties, where he averaged 23.5 yard average over 16 run backs.

Initially head coach Pete Carroll said the injury appeared to be a knee sprain. Now, Richardson will face at least nine months of rehabilitation.
