“Selma” Excluded from Producers Guild Awards Nominations
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — The Producers Guild of America on Monday announced the motion picture nominees for its 2015 awards ceremony, and one critical favorite was noticeably snubbed.
The Martin Luther King Jr. biopic Selma was excluded from the list of 10 nominees for theatrical motion picture producer. The films that did make the cut, in alphabetical order, are American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, Foxcatcher, Gone Girl, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Nightcrawler, The Theory of Everything and Whiplash.
Five films are nominated in the animated movie category: Big Hero 6, The Book of Life, The Boxtrolls, How To Train Your Dragon 2 and The LEGO Movie.
The PGA also announced its long-form television category on Monday. The FX series Fargo and American Horror Story: Freak Show are among the contenders.
The nominees in the other movie and TV categories were previously revealed in late 2014.
The 26th Annual Producers Guild Awards will be held in Los Angeles on Jan. 24.
