She also hopes to leave ’em smiling when she’s done.

“I think I’m gonna play on my strengths, which I think are humor, incredible joy…I think my songs are anthemic,” Katy told reporters. “And I just hope at the end of the day that over 100 million people are all smiling in unison. And if you can imagine that happening, I think there’s going to be an incredible energy that goes across the world.”

“I think I’m probably the only person in Super Bowl halftime history that will ever bring both a lion and sharks to the show,” she added.  Katy teased that her opening costume will be “flaming hot,” but denied that it’ll be a retread of her Halloween costume, which featured her dressed like a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto. “I did that already,” she joked.

Katy’s entrance and exit will be something “never done before,” she said, and she also revealed that two of the songs she’ll be singing are “Roar” and “Firework.”

As for her guest, Lenny Kravitz, Katy said, “We’ve worked up something incredibly soulful. Of course he brings the soul and I think he’s just going to make the night even sexier.” Then, she quickly added, “An appropriate sexiness, everyone!”  But the singer also revealed that a second surprise guest would be joining her.

“I thought long and hard about it, and wanted to kind of bring someone back, like a throwback of sorts, that definitely needed some more shine,” she told reporters. “All I can say is that it will be a real female fun night. When this person enters the stage and when you hear the first ring of the chord I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.” Place your bets on who it’s going to be starting now.

And speaking of betting, Katy says she doesn’t believe in gambling, but is thrilled that there are prop bets out there regarding what she’s going to wear, and what her hair will look like. “I’ve never been betted on as far as what my hair color is going to be,” she laughed. “I feel like, ‘Wow, nobody’s ever really invested in me this much. This is exciting!'”

Katy also admitted she’s rooting for the Seahawks, but when asked if she had her eye on any particular player romantically, she repeated Seahawk Marshawn Lynch’s now famous line: “I’m just here so I don’t get fined.”

Idina Menzel, who’s singing the national anthem on Sunday, is also rooting for the Seahawks, because as a New Yorker, she says she just can’t bring herself to root for the Patriots.  She named Whitney Houston as her favorite past Super Bowl anthem singer, and said it’s important for her to get across the meaning of the anthem when she sings it. “It’s actually a very poignant song and I’m proud to be singing about my country,” said the Tony-winning “Let It Go” vocalist.
