Gallery Furniture is now offering a promotion that will pay off shoppers’ purchases if the price of oil goes past $85 a barrel when the New York Mercantile Exchange closes on Dec. 31, according to ABC News affiliate KTRK-TV.

The deal is valid through Feb. 1, but it’s applicable only to the first 500 shoppers who purchase $7,000 or more worth of furniture in a single transaction.

“These free furniture promotions allow us to surprise and delight our longstanding customers and make new customers in the process,” Gallery Furniture owner Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale told KTRK-TV. “I admit it is a little nerve-wracking when we have to refund the money but we are hoping to make customers for life.”

The promotion excludes electronics but does include special orders on fabric upholstered furniture and solid wood if delivery is taken within four weeks.
