Two Members of Royal Canadian Mounted Police Shot, Suspect Found Dead

According to the RCMP, the two members of the police force were shot during an unspecified investigation. At the time of the shooting, the members were interacting with a civilian in southeast St. Albert. RCMP said the shooting took place at a St. Albert casino.

Police tracked the suspect to an unoccupied private residence in a rural area east of St. Albert on Saturday. After containing the scene, police entered the building, only to find the suspect dead.

The two officers, identified as RCMP Constable David Matthew Wynn, 42, and Auxiliary constable Derek Walter Bond, 49, remained hospitalized on Saturday evening. One of the officers was in grave condition, while the second was in serious but stable condition.
