Wall Street Drops Again After December Retail Numbers Lower than Previous Month

Justin Sullivan/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Wednesday marked another day of losses for Wall Street as December retail numbers came in lower than the previous month.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 186.85, closing the day at 17,426.83.
The Nasdaq slipped 22.18 to 4,639.32, while the S&P 500 fell to 2,011.29, down 11.74 from the previous day’s close.
The U.S. Census Bureau released the latest retail and food services data from December and noted that estimates placed those figures at 0.9 percent below November’s data. Total sales for 2015 were up four percent, however.
