Wall Street Rallies to Post Gains Tuesday

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Wall Street rallied from early-session losses Tuesday to post small gains, while gas prices continued to fall.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 3.66 to a close of 17,515.23.
The Nasdaq jumped 20.47 to 4,654.85, while the S&P 500 ended the session at 2,022.55, up 3.13 from its open.
Earlier Tuesday, the U.S. Energy Department’s Energy Information Administration released the weekly report on gas prices, placing the national average price of a gallon of gas at $2.14. ABC’s Chief Economic and Business correspondent Rebecca Jarvis predicted that if the current trend continues, that figure could dip below $2 per gallon by the weekend.
Also on Tuesday, Shake Shack filed documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission detailing its IPO, which could be worth as much as $80 million.
