Wendy’s Removes Soda Option from Kids’ Menu

Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Fast food chain Wendy’s has removed the soda option for kids’ meals, according to a report by USA Today.
Soda will no longer be listed as an option on the kids’ menu, but parents will still be able to order it for their child.
The fast food chain is the most recent to give into pressure from child health advocacy group. McDonald’s recently made a similar commitment to drop soda from Happy Meals in 2013.
“When ordering a kids’ meal, the customer is asked what beverage they prefer,” Wendy’s spokesman Bob Bertini told USA Today. “The change is the kids’ meal beverage options which are shown on our menu boards.”
Other fast food restaurants including Subway, Arby’s and Chipotle do not have soda listed as a drink option on their kids’ menu.
However, Burger King still lists soda as an available item to kids on their menu, according to USA Today.
